A step-by-step guide to adding custom networks to MetaMask

MetaMask is a highly customizable cryptocurrency wallet. It became the number one web3 wallet to interact with Ethereum DAPPs. Thanks to its customizability, it’s also possible to use it with other EVM-compatible chains.

There are many EVM compatible chains like Fantom, Harmony, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, or L2 chains like Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, and more.

This guide will walk you through adding custom networks to MetaMask step-by-step. I will use the MetaMask Chrome extension but feel free to use other browsers or MetaMask mobile apps. The steps are more or less the same.

The first step is to find the Networks section in the settings.
